Gynecologic Oncology

Gynecologic oncology is a specialized field of medicine that focuses on cancers of the female reproductive system, including ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, vaginal cancer, cervical cancer, and vulvar cancer. Cancer of the female reproductive tract also includes the endometrium, fallopian tubes, and vagina. The specialists in this do have extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of these cancers. By the Aggressive exploitation of operative laparoscopy, even only for selected patients, into the surgical practice of a gynecologic oncology service demonstrates significant improvements in LOS (laparoscopy on length of stay) without adversely affecting surgical complication rates based on different types of cancers.
